DO’s and DON’Ts

..::THIS PAGE IS STILL IN PROGRESS :: PLEASE CHECK BACK IN::..

01 : DONT PRINT YOUR OWN BUSINESS CARDS AT HOME
business cards are cheap enough to get printed professionally. don’t skimp on something that you use to leave a lasting impression.

02 : DO CHOSE AN APPROPRIATE DESIGN FOR YOUR PURPOSE
this sounds like a simple concept. the problem is that when you’re shopping around for business cards, you can often get pulled in by the aesthetics of a design rather than it’s ability to represent you. ambiguous designs are only appropriate for specific uses. think it over.

03 : IF THE BACK OF YOUR CARDS ARE BLANK, LEAVE THEM WHITE
people often take notes on the back of cards when they meet someone. it’s helpful to have some space on a card to let them do this. white or a light colored design work best.

04 : DONT GO FULL GLOSSY
again, people like to take notes. if both the front and back of your card is glossy, then a pen won’t write on it. leaving one side matte is a good idea.

05 : AVOID CLUTTER
try and only include the absolute necessaries. basically, don’t overload your card with text.

06 : DO INCLUDE A TAGLINE
insert a very short summary of what it is you are offering. one to two lines AT MOST!
